Sacred Embers

Something that is very important to me is something I began after my brother David lost his battle with cancer. I have been an artist all of my life and fused glass was something I worked with for a long time. At the time of losing my brother I started my line called Sacred Embers. Beautiful remembrances created with dichroic fused glass and the ashes of your beloved person or pet.

Then I also began doing Sacred Embers with hair of living people when someone is going to be gone for some time or if someone doesn't have ashes but they have a lock of hair.

And another idea came to me later....using sand from a special trip to remember that event.

What it all boils down to is the circle of life. The amazing and wonderful things that brings with it and through all of this I have been given the opportunity to meet special people and hear stories of lives lived and lost.

Fundraiser for St. Anthony's Oncology Center

The fundraiser was last night! An incredible event! When we find out how much was raised I will post it. This is my daughter and I there last night. I'm sure my brother was there in spirit and was more than proud.

Buddha Dream

This is called "Buddha Dream". Actually my first attempt at collage and I'm quite happy with it. I created this after my brother losing his fight with cancer and I needed bright colors and peace. That is what this painting/collage represents to me. I know you can't really see it but the crown is raised and embossed with metallic silver embossing powder. Time to really work!

I just got back from taking my daughter to her first year of college! The house is empty so now I have to focus on working and creating! R.I.P. David. 08-23-65 to 08-20-08. You were the most amazing brother ever. I will miss your quick comments, your advise, your smile and emails. I won't miss your love, because I know that will never go away. I will only miss the physical of you being here. You were the smartest man I have ever known and the most generous and honest. You were the most amazing husband and father, a treat to watch. You helped me realize so many things in my life and about myself, even just recently. I know you will forever be on my shoulder. Anjelica's too. All my heart my little brother.
